Water Euphrates and the Tigris together flow more than 52.9 billion cubic meters of water a year. Upon the completion: 29 % of the total water potential of Turkey will be managed The total cost of the project is estimated as 23 billion US $.
Food 20 % of total irrigable land in Turkey is in this region. Irrigation of 1.82 million hectares of land. From an increase %51 of irrigeable land.
Energy The water resources development component of the program envisages the construction of 22 dams and 19 hydraulic power plants. The total installed capacity of power plants is 7476 MW and projected annual energy production reaches 27 billion kWh. The region represents 28 % of Turkey's total hydraulic potential mainly with the rivers Euphrates and Tigris.
The Nexus The development program encompasses such sectors as irrigation, hydraulic energy, agriculture, rural and urban infrastructure, forestry, education and health.
