BLOCKBUSTERS RULES for the #verbathon A blue team or player plays against a white team or player. To manipulate the projected game board, click the letter once to select it and make it green. Depending on the team answering, click once again to make it blue, twice to make it white. Each hexagon on the game board contains a letter. A player chooses one of the letters, and is asked #verbathon question whose correct answer begins with the chosen letter or that requires the player to manipulate a verb that begins with that letter. Players choose their letter by saying "Can I have a 'P' please?”, for example. The game begins with a toss-up question to play for control of the board, starting with a letter chosen at random. The players can buzz-in during the middle of reading the question. If a player or team gets the correct answer, they gain control of that hexagon and are given the chance to choose another one. If the contestant answers incorrectly, the opposing team or player is given a chance to answer it after the teacher re-reads the question. If nobody answers correctly, the teacher asks another question whose answer begins with the same letter. Each correct answer won 10 points. Players attempt to complete a vertical or horizontal connection of hexagons from the top of the board to the bottom (for the white team) or a path from left to right with blue hexagons (for the blue team). The first side team to connect their path wins the game. The first player or team to win two games wins the match.
