MPVC Direction
MPVC Direction November 29 Requests Expand and relocate the Pavilion to the current Picnic Area along Harney Street. Relocate the Stage to support entertainment inside and outside of the Multipurpose Building. Consider a portable (trailered) stage. Consider covering part or all of the hardscaped Plaza. Ensure sufficient storage in the site plan.

PAVILION LOCATION Option 1 Welcoming site design; maintains large open spaces and sight lines Commons Green and Plaza serve Pavilion and Multipurpose Building Not located close to Livestock Barn; cannot share parking
PAVILION LOCATION Option 2 Close to Livestock Barn; ability to share parking/amenities Loss of welcoming site design, open spaces and sight lines Commons Green separated from Pavilion and Multipurpose Building
PAVILION LOCATION Option 3 Close to Livestock Barn Welcoming site design; maintains open spaces and sight lines Commons Green and Plaza serve Pavilion and Multipurpose Building Added cost No ability to share parking/amenities
DISCUSSION
MPVC Direction Discussion Which of the three Pavilion options is the preferred option? Are the dimensions of the Pavilion arena sufficient? If a larger Pavilion is desired, what amenity/cost should be removed from the Master Plan?
OTHER FACILITIES Stage Recommend a mobile stage to serve multiple areas throughout the site. Plaza Plaza will accommodate tents. Adding permanent cover will require cutting another cost/amenity. Recommend no permanent cover. Storage Storage from Pavilion, Livestock Barn and Multipurpose Building should be sufficient. Need to consider specific storage needs.
MPVC Direction Discussion Is a permanent stage or mobile stage preferred? If permanent, where should the stage be located? Should all or a portion of the Plaza be covered? If so, what amenity/cost should be removed from the Master Plan? Is additional storage needed? If so, how much and where should it be located? Is there a need to cut another amenity/cost in order to provide for additional storage facilities?
MPVC Direction Discussion With modifications determined through discussion of the previous five questions, do MPVC members recommend approval of the draft Master Plan?
