Making Decisions

Decision making skills help you make the best choices/ finding a solution

The decision making process involves a series of steps to make a good choice: Step 1: State the situation Step 2: List the options

Step 3: Weigh the possible outcomes Step 4: Consider values (beliefs/ ideals for how someone lives)

Step 5: Make a decision Step 6: Evaluate the decision

Lisa has been offered a part time job Lisa has been offered a part time job. Her parents believe that school should be most important in a young person’s life. However, Lisa could save her parents’ money if she bought her own clothes. What are Lisa’s two options? What would be the positive results of each option? What could be the negative result of each option?
