How to obtain information for your area? THE DLLR Workforce Dashboard interactive tool Data collected by the Maryland Workforce Exchange Real time labor market information in Maryland Available by regions, counties and jurisdictions Census Bureau, Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEHD) Program A federal-state partnership that combines UI wage and QCEW data with other sources to provide detailed local economic information Industry Focus ranks industries by employment, hiring and earnings Interactive online tool for customized maps: OnTheMap Indicators currently available from Available at the county, WIA and more detailed levels 7

1. First select the state of Maryland, then select the desired entity such as WIA, the drop down manual below provides all WIA areas 9

2. Next use the radio buttons to choose one ranking method, and use the check boxes to select key indicators 3. Select industries if so desired 4. Click View Report if satisfied 10

The report ranks industries by number of new hires, and shows growth in employment and hiring Use these drop downs to select subgroups to report Select different tabs to report for these subgroups 11

Search for Anne Arundel County, then click on the correct result below the search box 15

Click Perform Analysis on Selection Area 16

1. The Analysis Settings panel pops up to display analysis options 2. You can choose to include multiple years and various job types 17

1. The Area Profile analysis type offers the most details on local LMI; click the radio button to select 2. Click to open the drop down manual and select the labor market segment of interest available by age groups, earnings, and industries 3. Click Go! when satisfied with your selections 18

Wait for the analysis to run. Do not click any buttons. 19

1. You will be taken to the Results tab. The Display Settings panel shows your previous selections for the analysis: Here we chose to display primary jobs of all workers from Click a single year to view data on the map. 2. The right strip displays labor market segments distributions; charts at the top and data tables at the bottom 20

Navigate to the Base Map tab to select or deselect layers to create your own map 21

Go back to the Results tab to view the less cluttered map with legends; the darker purple/blue dots show where jobs concentrate 22

Either use the dropdown to view each year on the map, or click the Animate Overlays link to view change over time 23

From the animation we see job concentrations gravitated toward the D.C. area over the Great Recession Stop Animation when finished with observing changes over time 25

Select Detailed Report from the left panel, and you can save these reports in different formats 26

1. Move this needle to zoom in or out, and use the arrows above to center the map 2. Use the save and load button to save your map or pick up where you left off, its just like saving or opening a file 27
