Adding angle dimensions to drawings
Standard Students will create and dimension single view drawings while applying geometric construction
The green lines below are indicating some of the construction lines you already have drawn
Measure along the angled line and make the following marks using your 0.5 6h pencil: -1/16 from the object line -3/8 from the object line -1/8 from that line
Use your 0.3 mm pencil to draw the extension line
Get out your compass Make sure that all knobs are tightened Let me know if you see any pieces or think it might be broken BE CAREFUL WITH THE COMPASS – THEY CAN BE BROKEN EASILY Make sure you have had instruction in sharpening the compass lead prior to using the sandpaper pad
Put the metal tip of the compass on the corner with a blue dot and put the lead tip of the compass on the corner with a yellow dot Swing an arc like the one shown below – should be a dark, thin arc with a gap for the dimension
Measure along the top horizontal construction line and make the following marks using your 0.5 6h pencil: -1/16 from the object line -1/8 from the arc
Use your 0.3 mm pencil to draw the extension line
Add guidelines for lettering, the dimension and arrows 45°
