An English class requirement.  Reading Log An English class requirement. 

What is the Reading Log? Reading Stuff\Reading Log.doc

What do I have to do? Read 150 minutes each week. Record your minutes. Record your pages. Write a brief summary of what you read. Complete the information on the card. Parent’s signature.

When and where? Due every Thursday, unless otherwise stated by Mrs. Reese. Place in your class’s basket at the beginning of the period every other Thursday. Mr. Harris will collect the other weeks.

What can I read? Book of your choice!  Newspaper or magazine (only 30 minutes) Non-fiction Outside reading for English or reading class.

What does not count for reading log minutes? In-class reading of book or novel Textbooks Internet E-mails Reading over notes for a test Text messages

How many points??? Filled out completely and neatly: 10 pts(marking period 1) One day late: 8/10 Two days late: 0/10 Missing parent signature: 8/10. Grammar and spelling counts!!

Questions? What if I’m reading two books at once? Just write down two titles. What if I need more room than what is given? Use the back, write smaller, or type your reading log. What if I finish my book and start another one? Just indicate that on your reading log. What if I read all 150 minutes at once? That is fine, write a few sentences for your summary. What if I read more than 150 minutes? Can I carry over minutes? No…sorry!

More questions…… Who collects when? When do I go to the library?
