“Have You Not Read?” Matthew 12:3, 5 Matthew 19:4 3 But He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him…” 5 “Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless?” Matthew 19:4 4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female’.”

“Have You Not Read?” Matthew 21:16, 42 16 And said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?” 42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. “Make All Things [by] the Pattern” Heb. 8:4-6; 2:1-4 God’s word is all we have to guide us (Eph. 3:1-5)(2 Tim. 3:16-17) cannot presume to know His will without it (1 Cor. 2:7-12)(Is. 55:8-9)(Jer. 10:23) knowing “book, chapter, verse” is essential (1 Pet. 4:11)(Col. 3:17)

“What is Your Reading of It?” Lk. 10:25-28 those who read sparingly, or not at all (Mt. 13:10-15, 19) those who read selectively (Jn. 5:39)(Mt. 4:6) those who read defensively (Lk. 10:29)(2 Tim. 2:14-15, 24-26) those who read regularly (Acts 8:27-34)(17:10-12)

“Whoever Reads, […] Understand” Matt. 24:15-16 God’s word is meant to be understood (Eph. 3:3-4; 5:17) will understand if willing to make application (Jn. 7:17) and if willing to read, read, read! (1 Tim. 4:13, 15-16)

“Blessed is He Who Reads” Rev. 1:3 Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. 2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. How bright is the lamp of God’s word for you? How well can you see the path?
