Dividing whole number by a decimal

EXAMPLE 1 Find 54 ÷ .12 Before we divide, we need to convert the divisor into a whole number. In the divisor there are two digits after the decimal point. So we have to multiply both dividend and divisor by 100

EXAMPLE 2 Find 25 ÷ 0.5 Before we divide, we need to convert the divisor into a whole number. In the divisor there is one digit after the decimal point. So we have to multiply both dividend and divisor by 10

Example :Converting divisor into a whole number. In the divisor there is 1 digit after the decimal point. So we have to multiply both dividend and divisor by 10 6÷1.5 In the divisor there is 2 digits after the decimal point. So we have to multiply both dividend and divisor by 100 5÷.25 In the divisor there is 1 digit after the decimal point. So we have to multiply both dividend and divisor by 10 525 ÷2.5
