Children’s Book Assignment Task: Create a children’s book that is written for a kindergartener. Must be age appropriate and consist of the five key elements that make up a short story and three other literary devices. The book must be bound like a book and have appropriate page numbers. The writing in the books MUST be typed.
Children’s Book Assignment Requirements Spelling and grammar is correct Minimum of 15 pages (with page numbers) Must have colored illustrations (original- no copying and pasting!) Title page with picture Minimum of one sentence per page Includes ALL 5 elements of short stories and THREE other literary devices we have studied this year!
Today: Plot Outline Develop a concept for your story- must be age appropriate (remember your audience is kindergarteners!) Outline the 5 elements of your story: characters, setting, plot, conflict, and theme Once you have a general idea, draw a plot diagram and fill it out. It’s ok if your plot changes slightly between now and the final draft
