NAVAL AIR TECHNICAL DATA AND ENGINEERING SERVICE COMMAND (NATEC) COMMANDING OFFICER BUDGET: 80 M (ETS, ADMIN, BOS, TOB) PERSONNEL: MILITARY: 29 Officers and 37 Enlisted (USMC 3 Officers/5 Enlisted) CIVILIAN: 647 CIVIL SERVICE and 183 CONTRACTORS TOTAL: 896 MISSION: TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL DATA SERVICES AND POLICIES IN THE DEVELOPMENT, PREPARATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF AERONAUTIC TECHNICAL AND MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION; TO EXERCISE TECHNICAL GUIDANCE OF SYSTEMS OF REPRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION FOR SPECIFIED ENGINEERING DESIGN DATA. TO PROVIDE FIELD ENGINEERING TECHNICAL ADVICE, ASSISTANCE AND INSTRUCTION TO NAVAL AVIATION ACTIVITIES IN THE INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND OPERATION OF ALL TYPES OF AVIATION SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT TO ACCOMPLISH SAFE, AFFORDABLE AIRCRAFT READINESS, AND TO PERFORM SUCH OTHER FUNCTIONS AND TASKS AS MAY BE DIRECTED BY HIGHER AUTHORITY.
