Intro Inspired, creative and willing to go the extra mile, I aim to design and build games we not only want to play but others would enjoy. I have designed a game that I will demonstrate and explain the reasons behind in the context of these categories. Adam

Client Brief 2D game based on and around the Palace Pier. PEGI rating of 12. Minimum of 2 levels and 4 characters. Needs to have character moving through environment, gaining score by collecting certain objects/characters while avoiding others. Have to get a certain score to pass. Contain sounds from the pier. Will have a title and exit screen. Kim

Market Research The most common genres 12 year olds play include: Racing, Puzzles, Sports, and Action. The majority of kids games take on bright, colourful themes. Violence is kept to a minimum, any violence is not graphic and characters tend not to ‘die’ (In the franchise Pokemon, Pokemon ‘faint’). Local multiplayer and Teamwork are both attractive features and help to teach teamwork skills I took inspiration from this book/games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Around_the_World_in_Eighty_Days Joe

We Are Not Amused Stop the assassination of Queen Victoria! Get to the assassin before he reaches the Queen and time is up! Hi, so i started by making a brainstorm of ideas and came up with a game called We Are Not Amused, this is a maze game where the aim is to catch an assassin trying to kill Queen Victoria.

2. This is my brainstorm where i planned all the game mechanics 2. This is my brainstorm where i planned all the game mechanics. I have 3 levels with separate scenes, one at the Pier, one at the Park and one at the theatre. The game is made in a victorian style with slight steampunk influences. The colours are quite neutral brown and grey tones that reflect that time period. Following the brief the target audience is 12 year olds and i chose PC as the platform for my game. My Characters are...

Characters Queen Victoria #1 Antagonist Edward Oxford #2 Antagonist William Hamilton #3 Antagonist Robert Pate 3. I have 4 characters. Queen Victoria who sits in the middle of the maze and must be protected and then 3 antagonists, eo, wh and rp. Each of these assassins has their own level with its own maze. All these characters were real people who tried to assassinate the queen at different stages of her life. RP level takes place in a park and he tries to kill the queen with a black cane. WH tries to shoot the queen at the theatre and EO tries to kill her by planting a bomb.

Reach the Queen in the centre of the maze before the time runs out! 2 minutes on the timer Score starts at 1000 and counts down when the timer starts 4. The queen sits in the centre and you (yellow) must catch the target (red) before the 2min timer runs out. The score starts at 1000 points and counts down when the timer starts, the faster you catch the target the higher your score.

Unique Selling Points There are no games on the market like this Trying to get kids more interested in history Helping improve reaction times 5. USP: There really aren’t any games like this on the market and it is truly unique. It gets kids interested in history and helps them improve their reaction times. So that’s the premise of my game.

Thank you for listening And the end of the presentation. I hope you enjoyed all of our game pitches and thank you for listening.
