FIGURE 1 Potential outcomes after gonadarche for girls with premature pubarche. After presentation with premature pubarche caused by premature adrenarche, some girls have normal androgen concentrations and regular menses during their teen years. Post-gonadarche, some girls manifest persistent HA and may develop oligomenorrhea or amenorrhea; these are clinical features that are consistent with the development of PCOS.
