Asia Pac: Music with a Message Can pop culture educate & advocate for a good cause? Examples… Research & Present (starting May 6): a piece of music (pop, protest, or other) that teaches us about a social issue in the country/region in which it is popular First research periods: today and Tuesday…

Chosen song? Here’s what to prepare for your presentation Your presentation needs to include the following: Video version of song (created by you or available on Internet/Youtube) English lyrics to song (preferably viewable while we listen to song) Biography of the artist/group, with map showing city & country of origin At least 5 researched facts about the social issue(s) raised by the song (ex. statistics, compelling news item, explanations) Your comments on why you chose this song
