But even it didn’t anticipate the powerful surge of web traffic, emails, and calls that resulted from participating in the Microsoft Go-To-Market Services team’s App of the Day program. After its tweet was sent to the nearly 200,000 followers of @WindowsAzure, PowerOneData received increased traffic to its website as well as inquiries from venture capitalists. Unique web site visitors more than tripled the average for December, and the average number of page views per visitor increased by 25%. PowerOneData continued to see above average web traffic through the middle of January. PowerOneData gained exposure to an international audience, with an upsurge in web traffic from the United States, Japan, and China. It received increased requests for product information on its general email account, and an exceptionally high number of phone calls from potential investors.
