WHY THis PROJECT MATTERS People outside the recreation professional often don’t consider recreation as a field of study and a life long career choice Attracting employees WHO ARE educated and experienced in Recreation is becoming more of a challenge for Recreation organizations in BC Some Post secondary recreation educational institutions have spaces available for more students, And other Recreation diploma and degree programs are challenged with attracting students.

Over Over half of the respondents (55%) were influenced by a Recreation professional, someone who has previously or is currently working in the Recreation field. 38% of the respondents made the decision to work in the Recreation field based on previous work or personal experience.
