Modern Israel/Palestine Israel/Palestine is the most fought over land in world history due to it’s importance in Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. There has been a tense conflict between Israelis (Jewish) and Palestinians (Muslims) since 1947 over territory in Israel. Palestinians claim ownership of the West Bank (border of Israel & Jordan) & the Gaza Strip (border of Israel & Egypt) But Israel has occupied these lands since 1967.

Modern Israel/Palestine, cont. Israel/Palestine is a little larger than the state of New Jersey. Jerusalem is the capital city, which is claimed by both Palestine & Israel (it lays on the borders of both lands) Jerusalem’s population is 64% Jewish, 35% Muslim, & 1% Christian The Israel/Palestine area’s population is 75% Jewish, 18% Muslim, & 2% Christian.
