Let's Stay Together: Effective Title I & Title II Partnerships Charlie, we need your logo.

Snapshot of West Michigan 7 Counties, urban & rural 14 Adult Education Providers 10 West Michigan Works! Service Centers Unemployment rate under 4% Industries: Manufacturing, Healthcare, Construction, IT Jane – can we have the image of Michigan with our region colored? I’ve seen it on several of our pieces but don’t have the image. Some counties under 3% Unemployment. West Michigan performing at a higher rate than the rest of the state in terms of unemployment rate, population gain Employers desperate for talent.

Other Realities of West Michigan The street where Al Green grew up – don’t remember what it was  Pockets of double digit unemployment rate 10% of our population over the age of 25 doesn’t have a high school diploma or GED 60% of our community college students have to take remedial courses Racial disparities This is why this work is so important

Challenges to the Work Silos Trying to be all things to all people 14 providers Recruitment

What’s Working: Integrated Education & Training Programs Multiple models Multiple funding sources IET Coordinator at West Michigan Works! I think you both have good examples of this – it might be a good place to share.

What’s Working: Colocation Adult Ed providers in West Michigan Works! locations West Michigan Works! offering workshops and other services onsite at Adult Ed providers Chad and Charlie – your programs couldn’t be in more different locations – urban vs. rural, size, traffic etc. Great place to talk about those models

What’s Working: Adult Learning Partners of West Michigan Title I & Title II Partners meet monthly Share resources, best practices, information Shared marketing material

What’s Working: Adult Education Navigators Charlie, this was something you mentioned. Not sure if this should just go under IET or if it’s its own thing. And if it’s its own thing, I’m not sure what should go under this.

How to Partner: Lessons Learned Understand Roles – use each other Be vulnerable Learn from failures Redesign Communicate Bring more to the table Understand each others’ goals & support one another Don’t do cookie cutter designs Not sure if this should be one slide or one slide per lesson.

Where we still face challenges Not everyone share the same level of vulnerability Competition for money Were there others we mentioned?

Benefits Serves our communities to the best of all our abilities Greater impact together than separately New and better referrals Building stability Others?
