December 21st Polar Express Day – wear PJs! *Early release at 12:00pm* Goals for this week: Math We will use bar graphs and pictographs to represent numbers. I will create a bar graph and a pictograph to represent data. Reading We will identify the topic, main ideas, and details by making connections to ideas among texts about the same topic. We will retell what we have learned by using keywords and main ideas. I will share my findings from my nonfiction book. Writing We will use a checklist to edit our informational book and ready it for publication and sharing. I will continue to edit my information book and prepare to publish it. Science We will understand that weather follows a predictable pattern. I will observe the weather, measure changes in it, and record my findings. Social Studies We will identify the significance of various ethnic and/or cultural celebrations. I will explore traditions and celebrations from around the world. Word Work We will spell words with final -dge and –tch. I will decode words with final -dge and –tch. Practice cursive handwriting when you have extra time at home!
