THE HARVEST IS PLENTIFUL MATTHEW 9:35-38
Notice 4 great things: 1. God’s great LOVE. 2. God’s great PROBLEM. 3. God’s great PLAN. 4. God’s great PROMISE.
GOD’S GREAT LOVE “He had compassion on them” (9:36). “To have pity, a feeling of distress through the ills of others.” “To be moved as to one’s inwards, to be moved with compassion.” (bowels of mercies, Col. 3:12 KJV) “To suffer with another.” “To have mercy, to show kindness.”
GOD’S GREAT PROBLEM “The laborers are few” (9:37). A farmer works hard all year. When it’s time for the harvest…. IMB now has 4100 missionaries (3800) and staff (300). The largest denominational force in the world. This year 1,132 missionaries and staff took an early retirement in order to cut costs.
GOD’S GREAT PLAN PRAY—”Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore to send out workers into his harvest field.” (9:38) Will you pray? Will you be an answer to that prayer?
GOD’S GREAT PROMISE “The harvest is plentiful.” (9:37) If the field is full of wheat, ready to be harvested what will the farmer do?
THE GOSPEL “Good news.” Jesus died for your sin so that you can be saved by faith in Him!!!!!!
ROMANS 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
ROMANS 6:23a “For the wages of sin is death…”
ROMANS 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
ROMANS 6:23b “…but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

ROMANS 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
Romans 10:14-15 “How can they call on the one they have not believed in? How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?”
Romans 10:17 “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.”
