The Few

This recruiting slogan for the Marines implies that there is something very special about being one of “the few.”

There were a few Christians in the church in Sardis who were pure, even though the church was imperfect and dead. You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. (Revelation 3:4) Ancient Sardis

Would you have been one of the few who had not defiled their garments?

In Noah’s day “a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water In Noah’s day “a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.” (1 Peter 3:20) Noah’s salvation through water is like baptism because “baptism doth also now save us” (1 Peter 3:21)

Are you one of the few saved today? Have you been baptized in water for the remission of your sins?

Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Luke 10:2)

Are you willing to be one of the few who labors in the Lord’s harvest?

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)

Are you one of the few willing to follow the difficult way that leads to life?
