IAAT Regional Focus Caribbean

The Caribbean

Strategic Partnership Framework PANCAP/CARICOM: Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS: Coordinates the implementation of the Caribbean Regional HIV/AIDS Strategic Framework which Currently does not cover OVC. UNAIDS CO-SPONSORS: Coordinated by the Caribbean RST based in Trinidad. Reports directly to the LAC Regional Director’s group. Coordinates CIST. PEPFAR, DFID, USAID, GFATM , EU and WB have substantial investments in HIV programmes at regional and country level. WHO , PAHO , CDC key partners in PMTCT and Paediatric AIDS care and Treatment.

Strategic Action Points: First Caribbean Partners Forum for Children Living and Affected by HIV and AIDS: concept note under preparation. A Caribbean consensus and adaptation of the Framework for Protection, Care and Support for OVC. Adequate coverage of OVC issues in the forthcoming PANCAP Regional HIV/AIDS Framework. Formation of the Regional IAAT Inclusion of Caribbean countries in IAAT missions.
