6Y 2017-10-12 Thursday Ch 1 Writing Project Objective: Describe the complex societies in Africa, Europe and the Americas before transatlantic travel. Agenda: Prayer Do Now: Describe the setting for your story. Will there be a main problem or conflict that will happen? Discuss Do Now Writing Project Work time Homework: Writing Project is due on Monday

Sample Brainstorm: Aztec History: Conquered all of Mexico around mid -1500s. Fierce warriors. Economy: Traded. Wealthy: cotton, gold, food Natural Environment: Mesoamerica, lush, trees, rivers Political: strong leaders, captured other civs for wealth Practices/Customs: built large pyramids and roads, acqueducts CONFLICT/Main event in story: Aztec warrior conquering a neighboring tribe. Tenochtitlan Warrior going off to war Getting our weapons by trade Take the neighboring Strong leader that I follow Force the tribe to pay us in gold Use the river to sneak up on them We build a pyramid After the war, we go to the temple to worship

I wiped the sleep off my eyes and as I remembered what today is, adrenaline began to pump through my veins. Today is the day. We go to war.
