Critical thinking Critical thinking is the practice of processing information in order to make a decision, come to a conclusion or solve a problem. The objective is to analyze and evaluate an issue in order to form a judgement.

Gathering information When gathering information you should first ask the right information if your in a class. Most people say that gathering information could be hard but it will be worth in the future. The first step to thinking critically is actually gathering the information. Ask the right questions Find information sources Find the information you need from your resources Apply your own knowledge and experiences Consider many sources

Analyzing Information Means to break down the information . By analyzing , you can start organizing the information in a way that makes it easier to understand . Analyzing information brings order to the thinking process and the large amounts of information you will go through. Develop classifications Sort the information Rate the information Rank the information Organize the information into your mind

Applying Information Applying information means taking an idea and relating it to real life . Applying information leads to a better understanding of the information, because it takes you from simply knowing the information, to being able to actually using it . State the facts Know the rules or principles Ask question Make judgments Give examples

Forming a Hypothesis A hypothesis is an idea about why something happens the way that it does . The best way to form a hypothesis is to think of as many ideas as you can for why something happens. The hypothesis you make should be based on the information about the problem that you have gathered and analyzed. Tips: Make predictions Look for relationships Approve each hypothesis Rank hypothesis Test the hypothesis

5. Problem Solving Problem solving is the ability to work through problems by using critical thinking skills to arrive at a solution. find the problem - identify the occurring issue. Define the problem - understand what is going on and how it is a problem. Describe the problem - find possible solutions to solve the problem. Diagnose the problem - Select an option or options. Test the diagnosis - test the possible solutions.

6. Decision Making Decision making is using critical thinking skills to discover and choose a action. This is the final part of the critical thinking process, when you make a decision about how to solve your problem. Decide on a plan - figure out what you want to do. (gather information). Use the plan - apply the plans to the decision. Monitor the results - evaluate the plan and see if it works. (analyze information). Make adjustments - add finishing touches to the final plan. Adjust your plan - make thoughtful decisions by organizing.

Conclusion Critical thinking will help you come up with a good solution in any problem. When finding the solution you should always try to figure out the problems first so it won’t cause any stress and other problems to occur. Critical thinking can take a while to find the solution but it will be worth it in the future.
