What led to the Battle of YorkTown “July 1780 - Rochambeau and the French Army arrive in Newport, Rhode Island to join the allied cause.” “September 18, 1781 - Washington, Rochambeau, DeGrasse and Knox meet on the Ville de Paris (DeGrasse's flagship) for a final strategy meeting.” “September 20, Allied troops began to arrive in williamsburg.” “September 22, british fireships are released on the ebb tide,forcing french ships on the york river to move downstream. However, the french ships maintain the blockade.” “September 24, clinton again promise to relieve cornwallis.”
The Armies and Generals The generals were George Washington for the Americans, De Rochambeau for the French, and Charles Cornwallis for Britain and the armies were the French, Americans, and British armies the troop numbers were 8,800 Americans,7,800 French, and 6,000 British troops
The Battle of YorkTown The French blackard the harbor and the Americans encircled the town cutting off all Cornwallis escape routes, the British push the French further up river but they held the blackard of yorktown they battled for three weeks then the British surrender to the Americans.
The Treaty of Paris The Treaty of Paris was signed on 10 February 1763 the parties that were their to sign it were the French, British,and Americans they sign the treaty and the French gave up the territories in North America to stop hostile action to the British colonies and ended the French and Indian War and ended the Revolutionary war their were five Continental Congress members there they were Benjamin Franklin,John Adams,John Jay,Thomas Jefferson,and Henry Laurens,but lauren's war captured and thomas never left the states so the treaty was negotiated by Franklin,Adams,and Jay.
