Extended Access Lincolnshire East Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is pleased to confirm that all patients within the CCG area can now access general practice services at evenings and weekends. This is an extension of your usual GP services and is for routine booked appointments. Patients now have access to GP services at evenings and weekends if they are registered with a local GP Practice. The booked appointment will take place at one of three local extended access hubs. All appointments can be booked through your own GP practice or through NHS111 when your practice is closed, either for same day booked appointments or to book in advance.

The service was previously provided by the Horncastle Cottage Hospital, prior to its closure in 1998. Horncastle Medical Group have been commissioned to provide this service since 2010. The CCG is currently working with Horncastle Medical Group to promote the service and to advise patients that this service is available to them. The service at Horncastle is open from 8.00am until 6.30pm. You don’t need to make an appointment and you’ll be seen by nursing staff in a calm, relaxed setting.

Recommendations for Patient Council Members For Patient Council members to note how they can access the services and the services that are available to them. To discuss within respective PPG Groups.
