Determination of System Power for EVs Germany/Korea  Topic with close Collaboration with WLTP Subgroup EV Presentation of the current status of the TF system power activities (EVE-18-07e) Output from the TF-web-audio-meetings in between EVE-17 meeting in January and EVE-18 meeting 8 key elements had been identified which needs further discussions: Basic requirements to a new regulation Methodologies Application of the methodology on HEV system layouts and control strategies Required input data, required output data Operating points where the test should be conducted Load collectives and maximum power applied during the test Customer information Application of the methodology on PEVs and FCHVs Next steps (recommendation): IWG EVE will recommend a tentative work program for addendum to GTR 15 (estimated to be a 2-3 year project) Tentative work program with the following priorities: Step 1: Covering of the WLTP purposes (to be able to apply the cycle classification and the downscaling methodology) Step 2: Customer Information (information sharing topic for now, will be further evaluated on information level during Phase 1) 25.04.2016 EVE-18 Report for Subgroup EV meeting in Paris

Battery Performance and durability USA/Canada  Topic with close Collaboration with WLTP Subgroup EV Presentations: Presentation of the updated EVE-report for Part A (EVE-18-10, already including feedback from OICA) Feedback deadline for EVE-18-10: end of April 2016 Update-Report on vehicle/battery performance and durability (discussed already in EVE-16 and EVE-17) Overview about the latest activities within the EVE group and FEV (preparing report on battery aging on behalf of US EPA) Example matrix of durability requirements Possible options to move forward Presentation of JP position (EVE-18-12) on battery performance and durability JP position is that IWG EVE’s future work should focus on vehicle performance and durability, not only battery Review of FEV report (EVE-18-04) USA: report is primarily intended to be used as a document which is collecting information which helps in understanding the aging processes in current battery technologies Report should show that we are just at the beginning of understanding the battery chemistry and that there is still a long way to go 25.04.2016 EVE-18 Report for Subgroup EV meeting in Paris

Battery Performance and durability USA/Canada  Topic with close Collaboration with WLTP Subgroup EV Prerequisites: WLTP needs to provide EVE with expectations of performance requirements Durability is to be considered in connection to effects on emissions, not directly life expectancy of battery Conclusion: If moving forward on this topic (in case WLTP is requesting a test procedure) IWG EVE will provide test procedure for representative aging to WLTP OICA stated that the battery durability topic and its effect on the vehicle durability is topic which is regulated by the market and the customer expectations and that there is no need to already define a specific aging procedure procedures would be defined on the already available knowledge but – as mentioned earlier – we are just at the beginning of understanding battery chemistry procedure would be based on already available technologies on the market à could ban the development of promising technologies out of the market Battery performance and durability is a very complex topic and that it may not be feasible to include an artificial methodology of battery aging into phase 2b. OICA and JP stated that a regulation of battery durability is premature at this time; USA has no official preference Recommendation Recommendation from IWG EVE to GRPE is that regulation of battery durability is premature at this time but the topic should be revisited in the future.
