Safety In an emergency situation, umpires are closest to the racing boats can respond quickest put highest priority to competitor safety if needed, suspend umpiring

Safety Emergency situation? broken mast sinking boat person over board Yes

Safety In case of emergency get on the radio announce incident and location other umpires will take over your calls assess the situation and: stand by at the location of the incident provide help and / or support (e.g. recover person from the water) request further help if needed
