The Final Question What have you done?

The Final Question: What have you done? We will each be required to give an account (Romans 14:12; Luke 16:16) For everything we’ve said or done (Matthew 12:36; Hebrews 4:13; Eccl. 12:14) Others may account for how they watched over us, but we must answer for ourselves (Hebrews 13:17; 2 Corinthians 5:10) We will give an account whether or not we believe we have to do so (Psalm 10:13; 1 Peter 4:3-5)

The Final Question: What have you done? King Saul was asked this question (1 Samuel 13:11) Maybe he thought he would never have to answer for his deeds. Maybe he thought he was above being questioned. Maybe he thought his excuses would be good enough.

The Final Question: What have you done? Jesus was asked this question (John 18:35) Imagine having every little thing in your life scrutinized in an attempt to find just one fault. Pilate could find no fault (Luke 23:4; 13-15).

The Final Question: What have you done? You will be asked this question too. Our hope must be that some of our deeds will NOT be on the permanent record. This was David’s plea (Psalm 139; 51:1-3) This is God’s promise (Hebrews 8:10-12) But YOU must be in a covenant relationship with God to receive this promise!
