PROPORTION

ProporTIOn Ratios that are equivalent are said to be in the same proportion. In the earlier example we learnt that the ratio of fruit to water in our fruit juice glass was 1:4. What happens if we need to make lots of fruit juice? If I had six glasses in one jug, what would the ratio of fruit to water be? 6:24 The taste is the same because the ratio of fruit to water is in PROPORTION. Eg. 1 fruit to 4 water = 1:4

How do we know a ratio is in PROPORTION? The ratios must be equivalent. State whether the ratios are in proportion 7 = 10 50 35 2. 9:12 = 3:4 4. 32/20=24/15

KEEP THE RATIOS IN THE SAME PROPORTION: 3:2 = 12:__ 4:5 = __:50 4:1 = __:10 1:4 = 5:__ 10:3 = 20:__ 50:1 = 100:__ 7:9 = 21:__ 1:25 = __:100
