Minimize talk, maximize team time! Our Goal: Minimize talk, maximize team time!

Purpose This training will provide school leadership teams with time to review the status of their universal and targeted supports and act upon data to improve their reading and behavior outcomes.   Teams will use a problem solving process to prepare implementation improvements for the rest of the school year. Less than 1 minute The main purpose is for teams to use BOTH their systems/process data AND their student outcome data to review their universal systems. They should leave with an understanding of how to review their data and develop an action plan through Michigan’s Continuous Improvement Process. Just as we expect teams to take the content from the reading and behavior trainings and apply those concepts back in their schools, we also expect that they will learn to replicate this data review process back in their schools.

Objectives By the end of the day, leadership teams will: Assess your leadership team meetings using the Leadership Team Meeting Self-Assessment tool. Review the systems that support your leadership team using the Targeted Level Systems Checklist and Planning Tool. Use the results of the Leadership Team Self- Assessment and the Systems Checklist to develop action steps. Review the Team Initiated Problem Solving (TIPS) model and the TIPS meeting minutes form. Re; bullet 2 – if some schools do not have some of their targeted systems in place, the can use the Universal Action Plan for sustainability and the PET-R or Swept –R to look at some of their universal supports.

Objectives Cont’d… By the end of the day, leadership teams will: Review behavior data to identify problems, develop solutions, and create action steps. Review academic data to identify problems, develop solutions, and create action steps. Complete a new PET-R (SWEPT) and use this instrument to refine reading goals. Re; bullet 2 – if some schools do not have some of their targeted systems in place, the can use the Universal Action Plan for sustainability and the PET-R or Swept –R to look at some of their universal supports.
