Outside - ‘in effect dead persons’ Leviticus 13:46 “He shall live alone; he must live outside the camp” “And for the lepers, he suffered them not to come into the city at all, nor to live with any others, as if they were in effect dead persons” (Josephus; Antiquities of the Jews 3.11.3)
