What do these items have in common?

The importance of electricity in everyday life Imagine you live in a world without electricity…. Starting from when you wake up in the morning, how would your day be different? Discuss this with your neighbour.

What is current electricity? Current electricity is the flow of electrons along a wire. The common symbol for current is the uppercase letter I. The standard unit is the ampere, symbolized by A. Current is measured using an ammeter.

How do we use electricity safely? From your textbook: Read page 114 List the 5 general safety rules, and the safety rules in Science lessons. In your book, design a poster to remind people how to use electricity safely.

A world without electricity 7Ja/4 Choose option 1,2 or 3. Complete for homework.

What is current and how is it measured? Current is the amount of electricity that is flowing around a circuit. Current is measured in Amps. One Amp is equal to 6,250,000,000,000,000,000 electrons per second. Current is measured using an ammeter. It does not matter where the current is measured in the circuit as it is the same everywhere.

Physicists consider current to flow from relatively positive points to relatively negative points; this is called conventional current or Franklin current. Electrons, the most common charge carriers, are negatively charged. They flow from relatively negative points to relatively positive points.
