BENEFITS OF THE ON-THE-JOB TRAINING PROGRAM “What does OJT mean to you Our “On the Job Training” (OJT) program means we can provide you with funds to train your qualified new employees at your worksite while allowing individuals to build and upgrade their skills to help grow your business in this competitive economy. Employers receive 50% of wages or salaries for the training period up to six months. Reimbursement ranges from up to $6,000 to $10,000 depending on program, starting salary and degree of training.

Are YOU ready to grow your Business? Business Resource Centers statewide have On-The-Job-Training (OJT) funds in NJ to assist you in growing your business. OJT has benefited many companies in various industries with incentives in NJ ranging from large, medium and small businesses. OJT will help your business train a qualified stable workforce. Our professional Business Representatives will guide you in this simple process and provide you with a training program tailored for your business requirements and needs. Now is the time to train new employees with available hiring incentives.

Requirements of a Win-Win Training Program Funding is provided for Employer Partnership Grant (EPG), WorkFirst, and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Through our assistance, all OJT trainees must be eligible and appropriately certified for each OJT Program. However, YOU, the employer always make the final interview choice! The position must be full-time permanent employment with a starting salary of a minimum of $10.00 hr. No layoffs in the last 120 days, low turnover rate, taxes paid, W-9 on file and listed with Dun & Brad Street

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act-WIOA On-the-Job Training Program The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act - On-the-Job Training Program offers financial assistance to businesses to encourage hiring qualified individuals, including those who are long-term unemployed and underemployed. On-The- Job Training program provides 50% reimbursement up to $6,000.00 upon completion of training program to the employer for costs associated with training an eligible employee in the skills needed to perform the specific job.

Employer Partnership Grant This On-The-Job Training Program will offset 50% of a new worker’s wages. Employers can benefit from collecting up to $10,000.00 dollars for hiring a qualified applicant. The program helps defray the costs of training new employees and gives unemployed workers receiving UI benefits the opportunity to obtain permanent, full-time employment.

WorkFirst New Jersey Employers can benefit from receiving reimbursements based on training they will provide to a new employee who is a WorkFirst applicant. Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and General Assistance. Employers may be eligible to receive 50% of the new employee’s gross wages for up to 26 weeks to defray the costs of training.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS Many Paths, One Future Internship Grant Program Will reimburse employer 50% of wages paid to new interns, up to $1,500. per student. Awards are available for up to 1,000 students on a first-come, first-served basis. Internships must be in one of New Jersey’s key industries: Advanced Manufacturing; Construction & Utilities; Financial Services; Healthcare; Life Sciences; Retail, Hospitality & Tourism; Technology; or Transportation, Logistics & Distribution. Student interns must be enrolled in an approved high school, college, or university and are subject to their school’s internship eligibility requirements.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS NJ Career Accelerator STEM Internship Program The NJ Career Accelerator STEM Internship Program is a paid internship program administered through the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. The program focuses on first-time interns enrolled in high schools, colleges, and universities with placement offers in STEM industries such as IT / Software, Life Sciences and Healthcare, and Energy. Participating employers will be reimbursed up to 50% of wages paid to new interns, up to $3,000 per student. Eligibility requirements include: Being a resident of the state of New Jersey. Internship placement within a STEM occupation at a New Jersey based employer. Students must be enrolled in a STEM program from an approved high school or college.
