Closing a Wave at Hub C017 Larvik 2016-09 Hanns-Georg Rybak hgrybak@mmm.com

General Comments Communication to SIS is done automatically when closing the task in M3 A wave must be closed at the end of the day, prior to the deliveries in the morning. Otherwise the PODs will arrive earlier in SIS than the ORC messages from M3 Preparing to close a wave: Review the reconstruction status and cleanup open tasks Keep reconstruction tasks open, if the delivery is delayed. The next wave will add then to that task. Finally close the wave Run the OSD report and share with the 3M Transportation Coordinator or Specialist.

Check the wave status: /Operation/Reconstruction Status

Which case is present Case „Dark grey“ – FINE Task is closed, nothing more to do Case „Blue“ – ALMOST FINE Task has reconstructed and perhaps some finished cartons Finalise the task using PDA If impossible, then use „Finish local shipments“ Case „Green“ – THIS IS AN OPERATIONAL ERROR OF THE HUB All cartons at least presorted, some may be even reconstructed You need to progress the task as much as possible with the PDA If this is a packed pallet and you cannot access the „presorted“ cartons any more, then use „Finish local shipments“ to progress the task. Case „Orange“ – THIS IS AN OPERATIONAL ERROR OF SHIPPING OPERATION OR HUB Some items still missing (not processed), others have been worked on (presorted/reconstructed/finished) Then check which case you have then Case „Light Grey“– THIS IS AN OPERATIONAL ERROR OF THE SHIPPING OPERATION Entirely missing. Keep task open, leave it as it is

Prevent from open loose carton consignments: POD would be faster than ORC, so need to close! Presort Lane LNL or LPO (loose cartons) The task never closes if the last carton does not appear or the wave is not closed. But we want to be able to keep the wave open! At the end of the day: close all open tasks in lane LNL and LPO which have at least one finished carton: orange lines Close these tasks using „partial delivery“. This will create the remaining cartons as missing. When the cartons appear later, they will go out as loose carton consignment as well automatically.

HOWTO: check whether carton SSCC has been reconstructed to a pallet Get the SSCC: Either type it or for instance open Planning, search the task (by name), open task, open shipment, see all SSCCs: search for last 4 digits. Double click on SSCC, hit „Ctrl C“ Go to „SSCC Search“, Ctrl V in SSCC field… then hit „Search“ Parent SSCC shows the pallet to the carton
