The Field Visits

First, the education, training, learning and development dynamic. What is or should be the inter-relationship and dependency between theory and practice in youth work. Is this dynamic the same for paid youth workers as it is for volunteer youth workers?

Second, the youth work quandary. What distinguishes youth work from other work with young people? What are the essentials of youth work, the unique characteristics regardless of where, when or how it takes place?

Third, the professionalization challenge. How does or should youth work relate to other professions working with young people? How can we achieve parity of esteem for youth workers in terms of both their education, learning and professional practice?

And finally, Quality Assurance. How can we achieve ongoing and continuous quality development in youth work through the education and training of youth workers?
