Unit 11 ASL literature

Bell Work and Challenge Questions 1. What are some examples of ASL literature or Art? 2. Where do Deaf children learn about literature, art and culture?

ASL Literature ASL Literature is composed of poetry or stories told in American Sign Language (ASL) with an artistic approach usually reserved for theatrical performances. ASL poetry is signed in ASL, not English word order. Examples of ASL literature: ASL poetry Text about Deaf topics or written by a Deaf individual ABC stories Number stories Classifier stories How is ASL literature and culture, passed down through the generations? Lit and Culture are passed down through the residential schools.

Add these questions to your challenge question While watching the ASL videos, answer these questions. 1.Example: Video 1, label the people following the ball ( There are 6 people) Video 2: What is the topic of the story? Video 3 & 4: Which is an ABC story, which is a Number story?
