OmegaPS/Analyzer User Group Meeting 2019

Enabling Technicians with Accurate Data Frank Hallam - OmegaPS Suite Solution Manager

Problem Statement Logistics Product Data (LPD) exists to enable the identification of an accurate support baseline. After acquisition, this baseline in transferred to in-service managers who are tasked to ensuring that the support baseline is maintained. The update and release of technical data to deployed technicians must be done in a change managed process to ensure that the fielded information matches the approved support baseline.

Digital Integration To ensure operation capability, safety and configuration management it is imperative that the correct information managed by the System Authorities is provided to all those who require access in a timely manner. Changes made to the baseline due to obsolescence or engineering change need to be accurately reflected in the baseline for all fielded configurations. Two modules in OmegaPS support this process CFTO module - Enables the maintenance, production and change management of CFTOs Point of Maintenance (POM) module - Enables an asset level view of the complete family tree and physical structure as well as all ‘active’ TDP elements

Technical Data Management All elements of the In-Service Technical Data Package must reflect the approved configuration as controlled by the System Authorities. Change Management of the CFTOs enforces rigour to ensure that all agencies can be assured that they are working from documentation that is applicable to the fielded configurations, reflecting both changes in support and changes in physical configurations. The CFTO module provides an integrated baselining and change management approach which will update and released publications in accordance with a controlled process.

TDP Management Requirements Technical Data Management TDP Management Requirements Accessible Both DND and contracted support agencies need access to the TDP. Platform Specific Since each asset has inherent differences the TDP should be able to be parsed by applicability. Configuration Managed A single approach to configuration management is required to be applied to all TDP items. Consolidated All TDP items should be accessible from one location.

Technical Publications Module Technical Data Management Technical Publications Module The CFTO module is capable of producing NY, NW, NK, NQ, MY, NT and NG CFTO types All these document types include a change management method which enables Version Control Change tables Side bar and hi-lighting for all changes since the last revision All these documents can be produced in bilingual format iaw the applicable D Spec or Unilingual format (as defined by Victoria Class) All documents once produced can be held in the database and retrieved as required.

S1000D DND is embarking on a new approach to managing technical publications, S10000D. While a number of Army and Air Force fleets have deployed IETMs using S1000D, DGMEPM has only begun the process of assessing how this will be done. DMPP and DSCO have begun the process of creating the necessary policy, Business Rules and templates that will provide DND with common S1000D architecture

S1000D S1000D Integration OmegaPS GEIA-STD-0007 has been built with specific links to S1000D definitions. The CFTO module can integrate with a S1000D CSDB if required ICN attributes are used to store all illustrations in the XT table DMCs can be defined and stored The following S1000D attributes are integral to GEIA-STD-0007 Data Module Codes Circuit Breaker Type indicator Zone and Access attributes Digital File linkage to Structure, Material, Provisioning, Design Change, Maintenance, Facilities and Transportability Scheduled Maintenance Event attribution Event trigger definition Scheduled Maintenance Event Sampling attribution

S1000D S1000D Integration S1000D Integration – Continued Pennant will be developing standard exports in accordance with the S1000D Process Schema and IPD Schema for mapping to any S1000D CSDB Pennant will be pursuing a standardized GEIA-STD-0007 to S1000D interrelationship – Currently in partnership to develop a seamless link between Omega and a commercial CSDB. Planned for prototype demonstration in October 2019 in the U.K.

Digital Integration Data Integration Need A cornerstone of configuration management is having an integrated technical data baseline Technicians must trust technical data Tools must minimize maintainer administrative delay The new generation of sailors require modern tools Data preparation is the greatest impediment to meeting the data integration challenge Victoria Requirement - The intent of all this is to create an accurate, easily corrected, near real-time updatable parts catalogue and associated documentation.  One that reflects the as-fitted configuration for each individual submarine as closely as possible, eventually down to individual oversized hole ND’s so that the correct parts can be supplied each and every time. And one that can have any mistakes corrected within a day or two, and updated for all end users simultaneously.

Point Of Maintenance – Digital Integration POM: Designed to meet the needs of the System Manager and the Technician focus on what both require: trustworthy information interactive medium: Illustrated Parts Catalogue / Pubs / Drawings POM: OmegaPS module allows for enterprise data integration SAP / CGCS / OmegaPS are always aligned for catalogued material POM: flexibility and opportunity to manage configurations POM-C: LCMM focus on equipment management, not chasing parts POM-D: agile and adaptable to meet end-user needs

Digital Integration POM Benefits – Fleet POM Benefits – CPM/LCMM Decreased maintenance administration delay (looking for data) Improved communication between maintainers/duty holders/SAs Timely and accurate technical data to improve efficiency Capacity to enable near real time updates POM Benefits – CPM/LCMM Improved and defined support baseline Strengthened configuration management Integrated SAP/OPS/CGCS approved material data Increased focus on equipment management, not “part chasing” Focus materiel equipment business management processes
