Introduction YPD Form Prayers Wednesday 5th December Yn enw’r Tad In the name of the Father a’r Mab and of the Son a’r Ysbryd Glân. and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Amen.

YPD Form Prayers Waiting…. Today’s theme

A short Bible Reading YPD Form Prayers “I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty. Malachi 3.1 A short Bible Reading

YPD Form Prayers A bit of unpacking… Advent is also a time of waiting, waiting for something to happen. Usually its for Christmas and for that really special Christmas present that we have asked for, and that we wonder if its ever going to come. Ask the person sitting next to you, if they have ever been disappointed that they didn’t get the present they wanted on Christmas morning? What happened next…?

YPD Form Prayers A bit more unpacking… The Prophet Malachi is the last of the Old Testament prophets and there is a gap of around 400 years between his final prophecy and the arrival of Jesus. In that time God is silent and there is much waiting and anticipating, that God will send his Messiah to save the world – 30 years after the birth of Jesus, into this silence steps John the Baptist to prepare the way for Jesus to begin his ministry…. And so the waiting stops and the story begins…. but were the people disappointed with the type of Messiah Jesus was?

Prayer YPD Form Prayers Light of the World you stepped down into darkness, Lord Jesus – and not all of us can see that light or even when we see it, acknowledge it as being of you. Help us to see you this Advent as the true light and also as the original gift giver. Amen. Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer YPD Form Prayers Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. The Lord’s Prayer

The Grace YPD Form Prayers Gras ein Harglwydd Iesu Grist, a chariad Duw, A chymdeithas yr Ysbryd Glân a fyddo gyda ni oll Byth bythoedd. Amen. The Grace The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ And the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all, ever more. Amen.
