Fairbite™ Excess Food Club Members can shop once a week and select items from the shelves “Members” are referred by community workers to confirm eligibility Members pay £2 per visit, max two visit per week. Food stocks are supermarket “waste” via FareShare including fresh fruit and veg Fruit and veg and other items (tampons, baby food) provided as extras (help yourself) Opened in Jun 2018 Currently over 50 signed up members Averaging about 40 visits per week. Cambridge City Foodbank 2017(c)

Successes Systems are working well “Extras” and Fresh Food Membership registration Membership checking and recording in shop Ordering and shelf packing “Extras” and Fresh Food Baby food, female sanitary items available free Odd “non-food” stuff donated to foodbank Fresh fruit & veg from public Fresh fruit, veg & bakery items from FareShare Excellent atmosphere in shop for staff and members Some members are also volunteering to run the shop

Challenges Unreliable and unpredictable food supply from FareShare Limit to the number of members “Crowd control” at certain times
