Presentation transcript:

Project 4: IoT-enabled peer-to-peer energy trading REU Students: Eric Elliott & Nicholas Shanklin Graduate mentors: Sharare Zehtabian Faculty mentor(s): Qun Zhou & Damla Turgut Week 3: June 10th, 2019 — June 14th, 2019 Accomplishments Further implemented the simulation program, experimenting with different ways to model energy usage and agent decision-making within the program Created a REPL to interact with the P2P energy simulation framework via the command line Researched learning techniques for optimal agent decision making in an auction setting — found an interesting paper (RegretNet) that might be helpful Problem & Solutions Though the simulation technically works at the moment, making it an accurate reflection of reality has been challenging — the current implementation is somewhat naïve, and not necessarily a fair portrayal of an actual trading environment For a more generalizable simulation framework, agent decision-making strategies will need to be further reworked, and more authentic solar energy data will need to be incorporated into the simulation Plans for next week Focus on implementing more realistic decision-making techniques, as well as more realistic energy models for energy usage and consumption in the simulation
