Progression at GM 2008-2013- Mary Barra works as Vice President of Global Manufacturing and eventually Global Product Development 2013- Ranked 35th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes Dec. 2013- Named the next CEO of General Motors; becoming the companies first Female CEO Motors 2016- Ranked #1 on Fortune's Most Powerful Women list
She Had Potential Although not at the top of her engineering class, one professor stated that they “thought she possessed remarkable people skills that distinguished her from other engineers.” She’s a 2nd generation GM employee. Her father worked for Pontiac as a die maker for almost forty years, sparking her love for cars especially the Camaro and Firebird.
