Helmut Neukirchen helmut@hi.is University of Iceland eSTICC breakout session at the Artic Circle Assembly 2017, Reykjavik, Iceland Helmut Neukirchen helmut@hi.is University of Iceland

http://www.arcticcircle.org

eSTICC session on Saturday, 14 October 2017 5 min. session introduction by chair/buffer for session change. 15 min. each presentation + 2 minutes for questions, changing & introducing new speakers. Understandable for the general public – do not simply re-use 1:1 your scientific conference presentation.

Conclusion Reminder from SAB 2016 report: “However, the eSTICC name should be more visible internationally.” This breakout sessions addressed this issue. Detailed session description includes “These results are presented by scientists from the Nordic research projects “eScience Tools for Investigating Climate Change at High Northern Latitudes” (eSTICC) and “Stability and Variations of Arctic Land Ice” (SVALI). Both eSTICC and SVALI have been appointed and funded by NordForsk as Nordic Centres of Excellence.” Continuing work from SVALI Addresses also sustainability concerns of NordForsk. I will get information on “slide drop-off” mid of the week of the assembly, i.e. presentation slides must be ready before the actual session. eSTICC Scientific Steering Committee decision on funding of travel/accommodation. Possibly, another session in 2018 (if 2017 is success).
