Ground Surface Responses By Impulse Excitation Lu Sun, Department of Civil Engineering, Catholic University of America, Washington DC 20064 We aim at advancing existing inversion methods by establishing a unified, rigorous theoretical framework for complete inversion of surface seismic wave that incorporate uncertainty into elastodynamic inversion via Bayesian inference and genetic algorithm. Surface waves excited by an impulsive load in a multilayered medium are captured by a sensor array, which is then used to reconstruct structure and material properties of layers.
