Unemployment in Egypt It means a lock of jobs for a large number of persons in a certain society

1- Origin of the problem

1-1 This problem had its origins in the sixties 1-1 This problem had its origins in the sixties . The dramatic increase in the rate of unemployment during the period 1960 – 1986 raised the number of unemployed persons from less than 200.000 in 1960 to 850.000 in 1976 and to over two million in 1986

1-2 Unemployment has been a problem since then , having various farms , different causes and physical results

1-3 unemployment can be described according to region , educational level , age and economic conditions . In the Egyptian cities , where there are large numbers of people , the dramatic increase of population is related to unemployment

2- Side effects of Unemployment

2-1 Many farmers emigrated to the Arab countries forcing woman and children to work to replace them and this is not healthy because it leads to increasing drop – out rates into elementary school

2-2 Thousands of university graduates sit idly in coffee shops wasting their time and efforts waiting for a governmental jobs . So , they become useless members in the society and they full easily in crime

2-3 The causes of unemployment in Egypt today are over population and guaranteed unemployment where there are more employees than needed . This form of unemployment is very dangerous because it causes the loss of a lot of money that Egypt needs

3- Some solutions

3-1 The problem of unemployment threatens development in Egypt today and it will not be solved unless the government and people cooperate to beat it .

The government should facilitate investment in Egypt so that many huge projects are established , providing jobs for the Egyptians

3-2 In my view , the government should grant free loans to the newly graduates to set up their small projects in order to earn their living

3-3 On the other hand , young men should not wait for governmental jobs ,they should try to depend on themselves and learn new trades which the society requires

They can reclaim a small part of land in the desert , teach some illiterate citizens how to read and write or set up a new private project
