Panel Discussion on Equitable Services to Eligible Private Schools Federal Grant Programs Conference June 6, 2019

Panel Discussion Agenda/Flow Introduction (1 minute): goal was to bring some private school representatives and district staff together at a statewide conference to share observations and interact with district staff. Panelists Introductions (10 minutes): Ariella Hellman: Associate Director, Initiative for Day School Excellence, Combined Jewish Philanthropies Dr. Mary Lou Bergeron: Assistant Superintendent, Lawrence Public Schools Mary Goslin: Director of Government Programs, Archdiocese of Boston Greg Bares: Manager of Grant Resources, Worcester Public Schools Rev. John Daly Curriculum Specialist, Archdiocese of Worcester Steve Perla Superintendent, Archdiocese of Fall River Panelists Observations (15 minutes): Observations to share could include challenges faced in these and/or other topics, suggestions on how to avoid conflict and confusion, positive experiences in working with each other, etc. Some of the main categories related to equitable services implementation include: Outreach Consultation Implementation Carryover Budgeting and other Implementation Logistics Open Period for Questions (10 minutes) What can the ESE do to do a better job in managing equitable services? In comparison to years past, are private schools participating more…or less. Is the relationship better or not and how could it improve? ?
