Teacher: Mrs. King’s Classroom Week of: February 4th-8th, 2019 What We Will Be Working On… Language Arts: Long e with Final –e Long u with Final –e. Inflectional Endings (-ed,ing,dropping final –e). Grammar: conjunctions (and,but,or) Math: Identify 1 ten as a unit by renaming representations of 10. Solve addition and subtraction problems decomposing and composing teen numbers as 1 ten and some ones. Social Science: We will continue to read stories from The Seven Habits of Happy Children. Habit 4 “Think Win/Win” Spelling Words: The spelling words this week will have the long e and long u pattern. The sight/spelling words are: house,off,small,long cute,huge,cube,mule,these. Sample tests for unit 7 are on my website under the “other” tab. Writing: Students are working on writing informational/”How To” books. Science: We are studying about the weather! Math homework: Monday: pages 269-270 #2,3,4,6,8 Tuesday: pages 273-274 #1,3,5,7,8 Wednesday: pages 277-278 #1,3,6,7 Thursday: pages 281-282 #2,4,5,7 Book Bags: Please make sure your child is reading 20 minutes every night. I will be sending a leveled reader home each week, and a book of choice. I hope that students will enjoy the opportunity to select a book to read at home with their family. Of course, feel free to have your child read other books you may have, or Camarillo library books too!! Please return books and the fluency page on Friday.
