MOVE THE NEEDLE: BELIEVE JOHN 20:31
BELIEF IS THE AIM OF THE BIBLE
31 “these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
EVENT – BELIEF – EMOTION - DECISION
THOSE WHO BELIEVE JESUS THOSE WHO DO NOT TRUST JESUS TWO SIDES: THOSE WHO BELIEVE JESUS THOSE WHO DO NOT TRUST JESUS
20My son, be attentive to my words; (turn your mind) Incline your ear to my sayings. (turn your ears) 21Let them not escape from your sight; (turn your eyes)
Keep them within your heart. (turn your belief) 22For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.
23Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.
BELIEF: BOTH INTELLECTUAL AND PERSONAL
28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”
20 “I have been crucified with Christ 20 “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”
LORD: HE OWNS ME GOD: HE OWNS EVERYTHING
TRANSFORMATIVE BELIEF: WHO IS JESUS?
WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN FOR YOUR LIFE DETERMINES WHAT COMES OUT OF YOUR LIFE.
2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
