DO ALL THINGS WITHOUT COMPLAINING AND DISPUTING 5/17/2015 DO ALL THINGS WITHOUT COMPLAINING AND DISPUTING PHILIPPIANS 2:12-16

Philippians 2:12-16 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.

The Gossip Sandwich Revisited Prov. 26:20-22 Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; and where there is no talebearer, strife ceases. As charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire, so is a contentious man to kindle strife. 22:10 The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles, and they go down into the inmost body.

The Problem of Strife 17:1 Better is a dry morsel with quietness, than a house full of feasting with strife. 18:19 A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a castle. 29:9 If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace.

Causes of Strife 15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. 12:18 13:10 By pride comes nothing but strife, but with the well-advised is wisdom. 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins. 17:9 He who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates friends.

Causes of Strife 16:28 A perverse man sows strife, and a whisperer separates the best of friends. 25:23 The north wind brings forth rain, and a backbiting tongue an angry countenance. 26:17 He who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own is like one who takes a dog by the ears.

Stop Arguing 20:3 It is honorable for a man to stop striving, Since any fool can start a quarrel. 17:14 The beginning of strife is like releasing water; therefore stop contention before a quarrel starts. 29:8 Scoffers set a city aflame, but wise men turn away wrath. 18:18 Casting lots causes contentions to cease, and keeps the mighty apart.
