Fig 1 Preoperative cardiac dysfunction in group I (n = 29) and group II (n = 21) was noticed in peak ejection rate (PER) as a systolic function. Postoperative peak ejection rate significantly improved in comparison with preoperative value, and was reversible to almost normal values in groups I and II (paired t test). Fig 2 Preoperative systolic and diastolic pulmonary artery pressures (PAP) of group II (n = 21) were higher than those of group I (n = 29). Postoperative systolic pulmonary artery pressures of groups I and II significantly decreased in comparison with preoperative data (paired t test), and were reversible to almost normal values 1 month after operation. The postoperative diastolic pulmonary artery pressure of group II significantly decreased in comparison with preoperative value, and was reversible to almost normal value.
